We walk along the airport road until we meet the junction to go to Loose Mongoose. Walking past Loose Mongoose onto the dirt road that leads to Sprat Point and then over a little hill to the eastern-most coastline of Beef Island. From there we make our way to the bank of the Banana Wharf Pond. We usually sit here and take in the beauty for apprrox 15 mins and then return the way we came.
This walk is fairly short and is a wonderful family excursion or for beginners. The pond sits below beautiful Mt Alma that we visited last week. There is a historic lime kiln at this location once used to produce lime used in construction – an early industry in the Virgin Islands.
See you at Long Bay Beef Island at 5:30am on Sunday DV.
